It’s hard to say that Allah is my best friend, because one can’t be your best friend until you love them, care for them, and share with them. Do we truly feel those things for Allah? Do we do this with Allah?

A person becomes your best friend only when you take the responsibility to be with them in their difficulties and help them in all situations. If you want something from a friend, you ask them by flattering them and showing them love, so that they give you what you seek. You call them by their good names, by the names they love. We have all heard the quote, “A friend in need is a friend in deed”.

When you do so much for a friend, then can’t you do it for Allah? Allah subhana’ wa’ tala is our ‘BEST FRIEND’, because he is always with us, in our good times and in our bad times. He has given us so much without us asking him. He has made us perfect and beautiful. He has blessed us with family, friends, relatives, and sources to survive this life. Allah has given us our senses (eyes, tongues, ears). He has created us and designed us in a manner that we are self-sufficient. Our body is a great example of Allah’s creation and His love for us, Alhamdulillah.

So when your friend gives you a gift, do you take it and use it without thanking them?  It would be considered rude if you were ungrateful. You always thank your friends for their gifts and kindness. When you thank your friend who has given you a gift, then imagine how much you should thank Allah for giving you this precious life, family, friends, relatives, perfectly designed body, career, love, and this beautiful world.

Is it not your responsibility to Thank Allah ‘tala for giving you all the things that you didn’t even ask for? You get it as soon as you’re born. You never worked for those things and you don’t really deserve them, but Allah gifted them to you all the same, because of His Infinite Love and Compassion for us.

Now the question remains, how should I thank Allah? Its very simple if you are sincere. You just need to obey His commands, acquire the knowledge of Islam, and implement it in your life and beyond. While you do so, you will definitely meet many obstacles, but you should have hope in Allah and call Him with His beautiful names to make it easy for you.

We are born free, so why do we enslave ourselves to this technology and all these distractions. I am not against technology, but I request you all to use it for Good, to spread the message of Allah, when you need to, and not be enslaved to it your whole life. We are not the slaves of machines, money, or our own desires. We are slaves of Allah alone so we have to play our part towards our Creator by obeying only Him and not following our wishes and whims.

So, what are you waiting for? For the perfect time and place to worship? Many have passed away waiting for the perfect time to worship Allah. There is no perfect time. We can worship our Lord right now by doing his Dhikr and remembering Him. While working, while eating, while sleeping, they are all the perfect time, Alhamdulillah. The best form of worship is by performing our five daily Salat. It’s the best way to meet Allah and to show Him how much you love Him.

No one has been gifted this opportunity, but the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) to meet with Allah five times a day by performing our Salah. Such a huge honor, Alhamdulillah. We can get distracted by technology, by daily chores, by family, and by friends, but we need to learn to manage our time in proper ways. Plan your day and don’t miss this time with Allah. Ask Him to strengthen that bond, ask Him to not leave you alone for a blinking of an eye, and ask Him for guidance and for His Love. Believe me, it will bring much blessings and guidance to your life.

Allah is your Best Friend. Even if you have no one, you always have Allah to count on to be there for you. Develop that love and trust with Him just as you would anyone else, Insha’Allah. This is a relationship that will always bring you happiness, strength, and unlimited return, Alhamdulillah.

“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me (with ungratefulness).” (The Noble Qur’an 2:152)
