“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (The Noble Quran 13:11)

Asalamu’alaikum,

This quote signifies everything that I would love to say to all my sisters. We are living in a world that dictates everything to us. What we should consume, what we should wear, what we should watch, how we should act is all dictated to us. We need to break free of these patterns and learn what it is like to really be free. Find out what the creator wants from you and be free. For once in your life, take a stand for something. As women we are the shepherds of our households. We need to make the right choices and all live a more full life!

It was Malcolm X who said: “A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything.” Stand for something; stand for your Lord who created you for a greater purpose. We need to stop polluting over bodies with manufactured emptiness. Our bodies that Allah created and had the Angels (AS) bow down to as His Most treasured Creation. Our abuse to ourselves, our families and our children has got to stop. What nature has given us is amazing and perfect, as Shaikh Hamza Yusuf put it in a recent lecture I listened to, “You cannot improve upon Perfection”. Allah created us and He also created everything that we need to survive and enjoy…this is Perfect Harmony.

Oh and I won’t mind if you call me a tree-hugger, our Prophet (PBUH) was also a tree-hugger (in the literal sense) and anything that we can do to replicate his honored way is too little. He was and ever will be the most influential Man of all time and there is no arguing that…Peace and Blessings be upon him.
